Typography IS something we should care about. Fast Company and Cliff Kuang did a beautiful infographic of why we should care about typography.
A Tattoo Becomes Video, When Snapped On Smartphone
I’ve never been one to personally want to get a tattoo, however this is pretty interesting. Snap a picture of the matrix code embedded into the tattoo art, and an animated film will play back on your smartphone. Marco will have a ball with this at bars, no doubt. I love what people do with QR Codes.
Facebook Buys Push Pop Press
Back a few months ago, I got Push Pop Press’s book Our Choice by Al Gore. It is an amazing little book, for my iPad. Today the New York Times has an article about how FaceBook has just bought Push Pop Press.
Facebook denies such a claim. A press release on the Push Pop Press Web site said, “Although Facebook isn’t planning to start publishing digital books, the ideas and technology behind Push Pop Press will be integrated with Facebook, giving people even richer ways to share their stories.”
Don’t be fooled, once you look at what Push Pop Press has done here you will get a better understanding of ‘how’ FaceBook will be incorporating this interaction into the FaceBook experience.
There are other theories about the company’s latest acquisition, too. Facebook could have chosen to buy Push Pop Press to swoop up a talented team of designers and programmers.
In any case, this is something to watch.

WordCamp Boston 2011
Busy weekend. I attended WordCamp Boston. Lots of wonderful speakers and sessions. Once session that stands out to me came from Jay Collier. Jay spoke about Web Strategy in Higher Education his slide show has great examples.
As Jay so eloquently told us, we need to be moving toward the Federated Governance Concept whereas roles are distributed within the system and follow common vision and goals. Teams, teams, teams.
Other wonderful sessions spoke about one of my favorite subjects revolving around online learning-mobile learning. I am still working out my notes on all that was communicated…most important confirmation I heard-the students want it and they will use it.
